2022 Vintage: Burgundy

As predicted, the 2022 vintage for Burgundy is proving to be excellent. The growing season began reasonably smooth until April brought terrible icy lows and producers had to be vigilant in protecting the young buds – some of which had arrived early – against the frost. After that, a warm sunny summer followed with very little rain, ensuring the grapes ripened to a superb standard. Producers reported healthy, perfectly ripe grapes, which, thanks to the cold start, still had good levels of acidity. The wines are noted for their balance and freshness, with a great capacity to age.
